Slimware Utilities offers two versions of the same driver-updating tool: DriverUpdate and SlimDrivers. DriverUpdate, reviewed here, is the premium tier app (starting at $29.97 per year for a single license and topping out at $39.92 for three licenses) that lets you download the latest drivers with just one click and contact professional-level customer service when needed. The free SlimDrivers, on the other hand, gives you community-based support and the ability to download one driver at a time. So, basically, your decision to go paid or free depends on how much you value customer service and a simpler download method.

I clicked DriverUpdater's Download All button, and the software prompted me to create a restore point should something go awry with one of the drivers. DriverUpdate then began downloading the appropriate drivers. Afterward, a driver-installation wizard appeared so that I could install them. It took approximately five minutes for me to install all of the new drivers. Once that was complete, I saw a screen stating that all of my drivers were up to date.
Downloading and installing slimcleaner on your computer is incredibly easy, all thanks to the superior design of the application. Unlike many similar utilities which are designed to run solely on Microsoft Windows systems, slimcleaner is designed to run alongside the latest operating systems - allowing it to make the most of all the various errors & issues your system might have. This means that you can keep up to date with all the latest patches, and SlimCleaner can run alongside your current operating system without any issues. It's really a remarkable program which should be considered if you wish to keep your PC running as smoothly as possible.
A Very Useful Tune-Up UtilitySlimCleaner Plus's effective cleaning and community-based monitoring make it a utility to try if you want to turn back the clock on a gunked-up computer. That said, the tune-up utility's system-improving tools aren't quite as thorough as those of Iolo System Mechanic 15.5 (the Editors' Choice for paid tune-up utilities), and its license limitations are a bit outdated in the era of the multi-PC household. SlimCleaner Plus does the job well, but the Iolo is a better all-around option.

SlimDrivers is a free driver updater that allows users to schedule scans, download drivers, and create a backup. The software scans your device and lists down information on all existing and available drivers. You can then choose to update the ones you like, without going through the hassle of looking for CDs or searching them online on manufacturer websites.
I accidentally downloaded Slimware/DriverUpdate. I cannot remember exactly what I was searching for and found it. However, SOMEHOW, Slimware "snuck in" and when I hit the download button it was Slimware that I downloaded and not the software that I had researched. This is an awful way to do business. Even more disgusting is how it penetrates your computer and good luck trying to remove it. I uninstalled the program but this did not work. I have researched on how to remove this software and found some suggestions. Today is the second time that I have had to do a clean up of my registry to get rid of this software. I thought I had caught it all last week but lo and behold got another pop up today from DriverUpdate telling me that an error occurred while updating drivers on my desktop computer. Last week I performed a registry clean of anything with "slimware" today I did the same for anything with DriverUpdate. Not 100% sure that this will get rid of this garbage!
Gabi from customer service was able to help me with all questions I have. Very helpful and understanding. These people know their stuff. I recommend their packages to everyone who needs these utilities
Therefore, pop-ups, coupons, banners, and other displayed ads often conceal underlying website content, thereby diminishing the browsing experience. In addition, the ads might redirect to malicious sites and run scripts that download and install malware. Thus, even a single click can result in high-risk computer infections.
All PUPs are very similar. By offering useful features (file conversion, download performance increase, system optimization, anti-virus, etc.), potentially unwanted programs attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, they are designed only to generate revenue for the developers.
Research shows that, although SlimCleaner has an official download website, it typically infiltrates systems without permission. Developers proliferate this PUP using intrusive advertisements, together with a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" (stealth installation of unwanted software with regular [usually free] programs).
Developers hide "bundled" programs within "Advanced/Custom" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes. Many users skip download/installation steps and click advertisements. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
To prevent system infiltration by PUPs, be very cautious when browsing the Internet and, especially when downloading/installing software. In addition, criminals invest many resources into intrusive ad design. Therefore, most appear legitimate. Once clicked, however, these ads redirect to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other dubious websites.
If you experience these redirects, immediately eliminate all dubious applications and browser plug-ins. Furthermore, carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs and opt-out of all additionally-included programs.

It is advertised as a free (do-good) software that can take care of your system issues and update your drivers. Once it is downloaded and installed, it will trigger false warnings and notices and will prompt the user to perform an action to FIX Things, such as updating drivers, fixing registry warnings, etc.. However, as soon as the user initiates the process, it will ask you to get the software registered and pay for it. The point to remember is that this software and any other software triggering or notifying you of stuff like this is false, nobody or no software from the internet will automatically know what is wrong and what is right. It is the user who knows best, and if you're not experiencing any issues then you're okay - you don't need to install any software.\r\n\r\nThe PUP software also comes bundled with other software you download from the Internet so while installing anything, pay careful attention to the prompts on screen rather than blatantly clicking \"next, next\".\r\n\r\nSpecifically, talking about Driver Update is designed to start-up automatically and runs in the background. It will also show up ads whilst surfing the internet which can be extremely annoying and can disturb the browsing experience. In this guide, I will walk you through the steps to uninstall Slimware Utilities\/Driver Updates.\r\nSTEP 1: End the Process\r\nOn the lower right corner where the clock is, click the small arrow to view \"hidden icons\" and then hover over the mouse on each icon until you find the Slimware or Driver Update icon. Right-click on and choose Shut Down\/Exit.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThen Hold the CTRL + SHIFT and ESC keys simultaneously to pull up Task Manager. Take a look at the list of processes and kill DriverUpdates or Slimware utility processes by right-clicking and choosing End Process Tree.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThen HOLD the Windows Key and Press R and type appwiz.cpl and Click OK. Go through the list of installed programs, locate Slimware Utilities and uninstall it.\r\n\r\n\r\nSTEP 2: Run AdwCleaner\r\nclick (here) to download AdwCleaner. Once downloaded, click on the downloaded file and run it. Click Scan and wait for Scan to finish, then click Clean and wait for Cleaning to finish. After it has finished, reboot PC by following the prompt presented by AdwCleaner. AdwCleaner will also fix and remove other malware and pup's.\r\n\r\n\r\nSTEP 3: Do Clean boot\r\nThen try to clean boot your PC. This will stop non-Microsoft services and programs from automatically starting up when the PC starts. This is one of the most used methods to optimize PC performance without harming or affecting your programs.","publisher":"@id":"#Publisher","@type":"Organization","name":"Appuals.com","logo":"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/apuals_new_logo_B-1.png","publishingPrinciples":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/about\/#go-to-editorial-guidelines","sameAs":["https:\/\/facebook.com\/appuals","https:\/\/twitter.com\/appuals","https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/appuals\/","https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCR--2QnA0vYBfqsmSI3pQ9g","https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/organization\/appuals"],"author":"@type":"Person","name":"Kevin Arrows","url":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/author\/admin\/","description":"Kevin is a dynamic and self-motivated information technology professional, with a Thorough knowledge of all facets pertaining to network infrastructure design, implementation and administration.
